About Colchester

Colchester is a historic city and located in Essex country. In 2011 census, the population was according to the earlier survey. It was known as Britain’s wildest emerging town. The oldest town in Britain is Colchester. It was the capital of Roman Britain for some time. Later it attained membership of Ancient European Towns Network.

Colchester is 50 miles of London and linked with capital by 12 roads and Eastern Main Line. It was considered as popular town of commuters and less than 20 miles away from Harwich. It is a home of castles and football club. In 2015 general election, Will Quince was chosen as its member of parliament.

Climate:                  

This city has dry areas of UK (Precipitation rate is 635mm). Its earlier location with the British makes it less prone to despairs. The few of the nights of it are freezing during winter months. The rainfall from Atlantic climate systems is light but it may experience certain heavy showers and thunderstorms. The snowfall is for 13 days a year in the winter season.

Governance:

Will Quince is elected as the member of the Parliament. This city is termed as Essex County Council and small villages are meant by parish councils. The Colchester Town Hall is the latest structures to be erected.
